Administration
The Management Team has a combined 120 years experience with working with troubled youth. They are highly qualified and truly care about the students in their care. They are also great mentors and Role Models for youth The Student’s primary focus at the ranch is to acquire a strong work ethic often lost in today’s world.
The Gift of Work
The students are taught the value of hard work in every aspect of their lives. They see and learn how to work and work well - first on the ranch and camp facilities with his peers and camp mentors, then in the greater community. The Students also help grow most of their own food, in our completely organic beautiful Gardens which helps lower the artificial sugar levels out of the student’s diets that can be tied to many issues and restores them naturally and in a health way... Organically of course!
2nd Chance Ranch
At Seneca Ranch students are given a real opportunity - a “second chance” to expand and grow through the values of personal effort and teamwork while losing themselves in service to others. A Seneca Ranch graduate truly enjoys a profound life altering foundational experience.
Academics
Students Participate in Online courses through the local school system and keep current with their at home school credits that they will need for Graduation. Some situation’s will require the student to Graduate with Seneca which is no problem if necessary or needed.
Religious Ethics and Moral Education It has been said that "The study of scripture and religious and ethics training will do more to change bad behavior than the study of such behavior." our experience has shown that if you add daily seminary class that includes prayer and daily study of scripture along with weekly attendance of Church that the students ability to make appropriate choices is increased and their behavior becomes defined as right or wrong and far less open to interpretation or rationalization that often stymies the dynamics of change.
Church and Merit System
Regular Church Attendance and Seminary study has a powerful effect in influencing the students ability to change we have found it to be effective when combined with the Cognitive behavior model such as the point merit system used by the program. The students typically change quicker and the effects are long lasting with this component of the process.
Therapy
Professional therapy is an integral part of the basic three month process and may be continued at the discretion of the guardians or parents throughout the remainder of the student's enrollment if necessary or required. Seneca also provides an opportunity for students to participate in a holistic approach to continue their education with a complete range of therapeutic counseling services and activities, again including informal horse therapy. They are encouraged to seek a healthy and happy balance in their lives in the areas of spiritual, emotional, physical and social need.
Asperger's, Autism, or Special Needs
We are also well equipped to handle special needs such as Asperger's syndrome and other forms of Autism.
